Science Lab
Today in Science Lab, we learned more about energy resources. Some of the examples were wind, geothermal, and solar energy resources. One thing I found interesting today was that windmills (back in the older days), used to produce barely any energy at all. Today, windmills produce several kilowatts and megawatts. I look forward to next week's computer lab!

Computer Lab
Today in computer lab, we reviewed math and other subjects. The website we went to helps students master skills that they do not understand or want to learn. There were many subjects on the website. There was area to order of operations, and polygons to basic algebra. I really like this website because if I forgot a subject on math, I could just go to the topic and review and take notes. I hope we get to explore to more useful websites like this one!
The Carnivorous Carnival
"The word 'carnivorous' which appears in the title of this book, means 'meat-eating,' and once you have read such a bloodthirsty word, there is no reason to read any further." The Carnivorous Carnival by Lemony Snicket is 286 pages long. The Baudelaires arrived at the hospital by jumping into the trunk of Count Olaf's car, at the end of the previous book. At the carnival, the orphans met a fortune teller named Madame Lulu, who gave Olaf all the info he wanted by looking into her "magical" crystal ball. The Baudelaires disguised themselves as freaks auditioning for a job at the carnival. By the end of the book, the orphans were faced with a difficult decision. Will the Baudelaires lose this time, or will they prevail?
The Hostile Hospital
"There are many pleasant things to read about and this book contains none of them." The Hostile Hospital by Lemony Snicket is 255 pages long. The Baudelaires meet a group of people called the Volunteers Fighting Disease. The volunteers led the orphans to Heimlich Hospital, a hospital which wasn't even completely built. Count Olaf was back as the new head of human resources at the hospital under the name of Mattathias. Will the Baudelaires be able to overcome Olaf this time?

What we Learned in Computer Lab
Today in computer lab, we learned more about Salman Khan. Khan originally started making his videos for his cousins who needed help with math. Sal would usually make his videos inside his closet and he decided uploaded them to Youtube. A lot of people then started to notice Khan and watched his videos. One day, Khan got a call from Bill Gates. Bill's children said that Khan's videos were helping them and he wanted to schedule a time to have lunch. Salman and Bill had lunch and Bill donated three million dollars so Khan could hire people to help him. I originally knew Khan as an online teacher, but it is just amazing how popular he has gotten!

The Vile Village
Will Count Olaf ever learn? The Vile Village by Lemony Snicket is 256 pages. The
Baudelaires are sent to a village where they meet their new guardian Hector. As always, Count
Olaf is in the picture. One day, the town brings in a man who has the same characteristics as
Olaf but it isn't him. Then a rumor goes around that the Baudelaires have killed the impostor
but really have not. The kids are put in jail, but luckily escape and run away from the town. The
Baudelaires are very lucky this time! I look forward to finding out what Count Olaf's next scheme
will be.
